Ride The Nine Town Sportive for East Anglian Air Ambulance
We’re thrilled to be supporting East Anglian Air Ambulance for a second year. We'll be donating some of the profit we make from the event directly to EAAA but there are two other ways you can support this excellent cause:
Sign up to the Nine Town Sportive (by going here) and tick the box which says you're interested in raising money for EAAA. EAAA will then send you a fund raising pack including a sponsorship form and everything else you need to get started.
EAAA also have a limited number of their own charity places on the Nine Town Sportive. You'll get free entry on to the Sportive and all you need to do is commit to raising a minimum sponsorship of £100. This is enough to fund an hour’s worth of flying fuel. We literally can’t function without it. To say thank you, we’ll make sure you get the best experience possible so whether you’re a newbie or a hardened cyclist, join Team EAAA today! Simply email email@example.com with your name, contact details, and which distance you would like to do (100mile, 50mile and 25mile spaces available) to join our EAAA charity team and secure your place on the Nine Town Sportive.
Why Ride for EAAA?
For people unfortunate enough to be involved in accidents or medical emergencies, the likelihood of a full recovery – perhaps even survival – can depend on the level of specialist medical care they receive and how quickly they receive it. This is where EAAA can help.
The four counties we serve, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk, cover a huge area, much of it rural with many inaccessible and remote places. Add to this a poor road infrastructure and a journey for some seriously ill patients could take more than an hour.
Thankfully, our two specially equipped aircraft can reach patients anywhere in the region within 25 minutes and take them to hospital if necessary. The range of time-critical procedures performed by our highly skilled doctor/paramedic crews at the scene means they offer a standard of emergency care usually found only in a hospital.
We are a 365 day a year life saving service that attends an average 5 missions a day. We receive no regular government funding and it is only thanks to the generosity of people like you that we are able to keep our helicopters in the sky.
However you choose to support us, by registering to ride for EAAA you can expect:
Dedicated training and fundraising support from Holly Noon in the EAAA Norfolk Fundraising Team
A limited edition EAAA cycling jersey (once you’ve reached your fundraising target)
The chance to train with some of our cycle loving crew during a special training day on 14 May 2017
The chance to meet other people in Team EAAA before the event and on the day
A huge sense of pride knowing that every time you push the pedal, you’re helping keep our helicopters in the sky!
So what are you waiting for? Together, we save lives.
